I thought my life with Isabel was perfect. We had been married for eight years, built a comfortable home, and shared countless dreams. Everything seemed ideal until I received a call during a business trip: Isabel was in the ER and unconscious.
My heart pounded as I raced back to town. At the hospital, a nurse told me that someone else was already with Isabel. I hurried to her room and found a man named Logan sitting by her bed. He calmly introduced himself as Isabel’s lover.

“We’ve been together for a year,” Logan explained. “I brought her here after an accident. I told the nurse I was her husband to avoid complications.”
Stunned, I learned that Isabel felt neglected due to my long work hours. Logan shared that Isabel often talked about missing the closeness we once had.
“I’m sorry for the confusion,” Logan said. “She needs you now.”
As Isabel woke and saw me, her confusion was palpable. Logan quietly left, advising me to “make her happy.”
I faced a painful reality. I needed to rebuild our relationship with honesty and understanding, starting now. Isabel’s recovery would be a journey, but it was one I was committed to undertaking.
